According to the 2007 National Diabetes Fact Sheet (the most recent year for which data is available), there are an estimated 23.6 million children and adults-or 7.8% of the population- that have diabetes in the United States. 5.7 million of those have gone undiagnosed. Furthermore, 1.6 million new cases of diabetes are diagnosed in people aged 20 years and older each year. We accept diabetes donations of glucose test strips that have been unopened and that are well within their expiration date. Our goal is to then redistribute them to those diabetics that are most in need of diabetes donations. A large amount of these test strips we receive also have the potential of becoming a veterans donation.
